Compliance challenges every Indian NGO faces — and how Sanstha ERP solves them

FCRA annual return (FC-4) — scrambling to separate foreign and domestic funds

Sanstha ERP keeps FCRA and domestic transactions in separate registers from day one. Your CA gets organised, pre-separated data for FC-4 preparation — no manual sorting at year-end.

Donor asks for 80G receipt or grant utilisation report — you can't produce it quickly

80G receipts are generated in 60 seconds. Project-wise utilisation reports are one click. Send them to donors by email or WhatsApp immediately — building the trust that brings repeat funding.

CSR donor requires a utilisation certificate — format and deadline pressure

Sanstha ERP tracks CSR receipts and project utilisation separately. Generate a formatted utilisation statement at any point — quarterly or annually — without manual data compilation.

Everything an Indian NGO needs to stay compliant and transparent

Designed specifically for the financial workflows of NGOs, Section 8 companies and charitable societies — not a generic accounting tool with no understanding of FCRA or CSR.

FCRA-separate account tracking

FCRA 2010 (amended 2020) requires foreign contributions to be received only in a designated FCRA account at SBI, New Delhi main branch. Sanstha ERP keeps domestic and foreign contribution records fully separate for FC-4 annual return preparation.

Built for India's complex NGO compliance landscape

From FCRA 2020 amendments to Section 135 CSR requirements, Sanstha ERP is built by FastLegal Technologies — a legal-tech company that understands what Indian NGOs are actually accountable for.

Section 8 Companies Act 2013

Section 8 companies (formerly Section 25) are regulated by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs and must maintain statutory accounts. Sanstha ERP produces income-expenditure statements aligned with Section 8 audit requirements.

FCRA 2010 (Amended 2020)

The Foreign Contribution Regulation (Amendment) Act 2020 requires all foreign contributions to be received exclusively at SBI's New Delhi main branch and restricts sub-granting. Sanstha ERP maintains separate FCRA records for FC-4 annual returns due by 31st December each year.

Section 12AB & 80G

NGOs claiming income exemption must register under Section 12AB. 80G certification allows donors to claim 50% deduction. Form 10BD must be filed by 31st May annually listing all eligible donations. Sanstha ERP automates receipt generation and Form 10BD compilation.

CSR — Section 135, Companies Act

Companies with net worth ≥ ₹500 Cr or turnover ≥ ₹1,000 Cr must spend 2% of average net profit on CSR. NGOs receiving CSR funds must issue utilisation certificates. Sanstha ERP tracks CSR receipts separately and generates utilisation reports.
